Starlight, Stillness & Fossils
Sutherland Karoo Escape (3D/2N)
From R18,000 per person (for min 4 pax)
A private Karoo flying escape from Stellenbosch to Sutherland
Leave the Cape Winelands behind and arrive in the high Karoo by private aircraft, where space, silence, and the vast African sky define the pace. This two-night hosted journey is built around Rogge Cloof Private Nature Reserve: dawn drives across open plains, optional conservation/geology/history adventures, ancient fossil landscapes, and stargazing under exceptionally clear Karoo night skies.

A Dramatic Scenic Flight
In under an hour, the landscape transforms from vineyards and mountain folds to rugged ranges and the vast openness of the Karoo. The flight is a core part of the experience.

Rogge Cloof: High-altitude Karoo Wilderness
Stay at Rogge Cloof on the Roggeveld plateau (approximately 1,400–1,700m). Days are unhurried and nature-led; nights are crisp and quiet, with warm Karoo hospitality, comfortable suites, and wide-open views across the plains.

Stars, Fossils, Wildlife, and the Karoo Sky
Explore landscapes that hold visible traces of deep time (fossils from around 250 million years ago), encounter Karoo wildlife, and end your day with one of South Africa’s most striking night-sky experiences; planets, constellations, and the Milky Way with remarkable clarity.
